In the Future …
In order to better serve the Good for You community in the future, Good for You will incorporate some fun new features:
A calendar of local events
By keeping an updated calendar of local events in Chicago, Good for You will become an important resource for its active, adventure seeking community. Featured events would range from free concerts in Millennium Park to neighborhood art gallery walks. The calendar could also be sent out as a weekly newsletter to followers’ emails.
Sponsorship of live events
As a way of exchanging ideas with other local organizations and community groups, Good for You will co-sponsor live events designed to bring community members together. Sponsored events will range from cooking classes focused on healthy, tasty family meals on a budget to field trips to local farms.
Featured neighborhood coverage
In order to get Good for You news to more than just middle class North Siders, Good for You will feature a page focused on South Side coverage and a page focused on coverage for Chicago’s Latino community. While content across these three pages would be very similar, the South Side page will focus more on South Side businesses and events and the Latino page would feature Spanish content along with bi-lingual event listings.
All three pages will feature the same format and design, with each post topped by subject-appropriate art.
The success of Good for You will be measured by more than just readership. It will be measured by the general health and wellbeing of its readers. It will be measured by the degree to which Chicagoans are involved in their communities. And it will be measured by how often readers stop to ask themselves is this good for me?
